Adoptive Mom Mentor & Parenting Coach

Gretchyn Edwards

Gretchyn Edwards, MSW, LSWAIC - I am an adoptive parent of one child who came home to us as a toddler through private adoption. I have my MSW through Michigan State University (Go Green!) and hold associate licensure in both Michigan and Washington State. My areas of interest and additional study include adoption trauma and attachment, ACEs, neurobiology of trauma, ADHD, PTSD, grief and loss, postpartum depression and anxiety, post-adoption depression, and EMDR.

My years of experience as both a potential adoptive parent in waiting and later an adoptive mom have given me firsthand knowledge of the tremendous challenges adoptive families face in finding resources that are adoption trauma/attachment informed for both adopted children and their parents. My professional experiences have focused primarily on listening to, supporting, and encouraging moms in hard places as they find their way to feeling truly heard and seen in both group settings and through one-on-one counseling focused on mindfulness, camaraderie, and evidence-based practices
